My name’s Nguyen Thi Truc Tien, my first name is Tien and my last name is Nguyen.

I’m doing great, thanks.

I’m a student of Long Thanh High School now.
4.    Why are you here? (The US Consulate General)
I’m here to apply for the visa F1, if I pass this interview successfully, I will go to America to study.

I’m 16 now.

Hi, my name is Nguyen Thi Truc Tien, I’m 16 and I’m a student of Long Thanh High School.

My birthday is on September 19th.
8.    Where do you live? What is your address?
I live in Tam An village, Long Thanh town, Dong Nai province.
9.    What’s specialty of your city (province)?
         I live in Dong Nai province and there is a very famous brand of milk call LothaMilk.
10.  How long does it take from your province to Ho Chi Minh City?
It’s about 60 kilometers from Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh City and it takes me almost one hour and thirty minutes to go to the city.

I love travelling, especially to the mountainous places.

I have never been abroad.

I enjoy playing badminton and volleyball although I’m not good at them.

I usually do the volunteer works with my volunteer team in the special days like the Children’s Day. We often organise entertainment shows and give some present to the disadvantaged children in the town.

I enjoy watching films and playing instrument.

When I have free time, I usually watch some films on the Internet or learn to play a new song with my instrument.

I’m very healthy although I’m a little bit thin.

I go to Long Thanh High School

My school’s in Long Thanh town, Dong Nai province.

To me, Long Thanh High School is the best high school in Long Thanh town.

Long Thanh High School was rebuilt in 2016, now it is very new and has 3 main building with 34 classes.
5.    How many students are there in your school?
There are almost 1500 students this year.
6.    How many classes are there in your school?
There are 34 classes in my school.
7.    How many students are there in your class?
There are 45 students in my class, 27 girls and 18 boys.
8.    Does your school have sports activities or sports clubs?
Yes, my school organise sport contests every year.
9.    Do you attend any activities after school?
No, I don’t.

I’m in grade 10.

I took my 1st semester examination last december.

My GPA of the 1st semester is 7.8.

I hve two favourite subjects: English and IT.

To me, English is a nice language and I feel very good when I speak it. I also find that IT is very cool and useful.

I’m bad at Physics.

III.       WHY USA?
1.    Why do you want to go to the US? What’s your purpose to the US?
I want to go to the US to study.
2.    Why do you want to study in the US? Why do you choose the US for your studies?
Because in the US, I can study the new subjects that I can’t study in Viet Nam, especially Psychology. Moreover, the certifications of the US’s school can be used worldwide.
3.    Why don’t you continue to study in Vietnam?
Because the Viet Nam’s education is not as good as in the US and I can’t study Psychology here.
4.    Why don’t you go to another country for your studies?
Because I like the schedule of the US’s school and the US’s schools offer students lots of types of scholarship.
5.    When have you had the plan/ idea to study in the US?
I have thought about studying in the US since I was a grade 5 student.
6.    Why don’t you wait until finishing high school in Vietnam? (if high school student)
It could be late if I wait until finish high school. If I come to the US, early, I will have more time to improve my English and I can look for more scholarships for university.

Because I really like the US’s education and moreover, I’m having a scholarship.

V.        STUDY PLAN & FUTURE CAREER PLAN
1.    What’s your study plan?
I will study both high school and university in the US, after I get my degrees, I will go back to Viet Nam to work.

After finish studying, I will spend time working in a company for experience, then I will have my own company.

As we live in the countryside so people can rent a small house easily without contract.

They used to pay almost 1 million VND a month for the taxes but now they don’t have to pay any tax.
23.  How can your parents pay for your studies?
They use the total income of the family to pay for my study.

They don’t have bank book.
25.  Why do your parents save a little money in the bank while they have a big income?
26.  Why have they just put money in the bank recently?

VII.     RETURN TO VIETNAM
1.    Will you come back to Vietnam when you finished your studies in the US? Yes, I will.
2.    How can you prove that you will come back to Vietnam? I have all my relatives in VN, moreover VN attracts many international investment that can help me with my business.

VIII.    REACTION QUESTIONS
1.    What will you do if I don’t give you a visa? I will spend more time to repair for my the next time and make sure that I have enough opportunities to go to the US.
2.    How do you feel if you are not given a visa? I will be sad and disappointed.
3.    How do you think if I say that you are not qualified for a student visa? I will find my false and repair for a better interview.
4.    Why do you think I should give you a visa? Because I’m a serious student that love studying and also love the US.
5.    How do your parents feel when you study away from home? They are not very worry and thay all hope that I can go to the US.
6.    What would you do if you miss your parents? I can make video calls and talk to them through the Internet.
7.    Have you ever written emails to anybody in the US? No, I haven’t.
8.    What happen if you run out of money in the US? I can contact my parents for some money, they can send it through the bank.
